Time to check your pipes and fittings, clean those flues, and maybe get a professional to inspect it! Better safe than sorry! It's too easy to just get cold and fire them up and forget to check things out!
And make sure your homeowner's policy covers using them.

The temptation to use auxillary heat (heat sources other than your furnace) is great when it is soooo cold outside. Remember to attend to all lit sources. Keep them away from walls, curtains, power cords, and anything cloth or otherwise combustible.
